School history

1974: Creation of a photography school in Paris.

1989: Installation of a photography school in Guadalajara – Mexico. 

1987: Creation of a photography school in Montpellier. 

1994: Opening of the Magenta Photography Workshop in Villeurbanne.

A training centre

The workshop offers various types of training: – a nine months continuous training preparing for the photography certificate; – short specialized trainings, headed by Mr Sudre or external contributors for laboratory work, sensitisation and printing techniques from the 19^th century.

Workshop facilities

The Magenta workshop is made of several black and white and colour laboratories fitted out with Durst enlargers, a computer room with 7 Intel Mac workstations, scanners, A3 printer and a silver and digital studio.

The classroom is equipped with a video projector, VCR and DVD player.

The workshop also provides the students an access to a specialized library composed of a large number of books, magazines.

A small kitchen is available for lunchtime breaks.
