School history
1974: Creation of a photography school in Paris.
1989: Installation of a photography school in Guadalajara – Mexico.
1987: Creation of a photography school in Montpellier.
1994: Opening of the Magenta Photography Workshop in Villeurbanne.
A training centre
The workshop offers various types of training: – a nine months continuous training preparing for the photography certificate; – short specialized trainings, headed by Mr Sudre or external contributors for laboratory work, sensitisation and printing techniques from the 19th century.
Workshop facilities
The Magenta workshop is made of several black and white and colour laboratories fitted out with Durst enlargers, a computer room with 7 Intel Mac workstations, scanners, A3 printer and a silver and digital studio.
The classroom is equipped with a video projector, VCR and DVD player.
The workshop also provides the students an access to a specialized library composed of a large number of books, magazines.
A small kitchen is available for lunchtime breaks.
